Growing up, we were taught democracy was a right. Now we see that democracy is a privilege. A ruleset for the few, a shelter for the many. We were taught that democracy paved the way for marginalised voices to be heard, stability, human rights. The last decade has taught us that was a lie. So while Socialism is an obvious future for the US, Socialists should just suck it up and vote Democrat in 2024. Here are 7 reasons why.
The alternative is the Republicans. That’s it. That’s the reason.
The so-called “constitutionalists” of the supreme court might get elected again and again and again. The inalienable rights set forth by our previous supreme court administration are getting torn down.
You care about trans rights. While it might be an uncomfortable vote to you, it is literally a life and death scenario for transgender folks.
Biden is not THAT bad, come on. He is doing a fantastic job. Yes, I agree, Bernie would have absolutely killed it if he was elected, but unfortunately the Neoliberals wouldn’t allow it, and the undemocratic democratic (see what I did there? 😉 super delegates kill any chance of a populist candidate.
The people will move towards Socialism anyway. It is clear from the current trend of wars, human rights abuse, transgender genocide, inflation, housing crisis, that the market economy is for the few not for the many Americans. The future will be socialist, even if you vote Democrat in 2024.
Do you care about Ukraine? Of course you do… If you vote Republicans say “good bye!!!” to supporting the rights of the Ukrainians to life free, have rights, have free expression of thought, religion, gender expression. So just swallow you pride, don’t waste your vote. Socialism can come in the form of Neoliberalism if we try hard enough. Keep registering people to vote. Reach out to Black, Indigenous communities where we will likely see Socialism prosper.
